About MaxQ@Kirtland
Kirtland AFB is home to the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command and Space Rapid Capabilities Office and the Air Force Research Laboratory, including its Space Vehicles and Directed Energy Directorates, which are leading national efforts to develop and protect space.
Tenancy at MaxQ@Kirtland, which gives commercial enterprises a unique opportunity to co-locate near government customers, can be undertaken through a build-to-suit or ground lease agreement, and facilities can include secure and unsecure office and lab space and Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facilities.
"By being this close to the Air Force Research Lab, Space Rapid Capabilities Office, and Space Systems Command, we can speed the development of our space products and technologies.”
- Matt Verock, Northrop Grumman (Space Security Systems)
Northrop Grumman is an anchor tenant at MaxQ@Kirtland, where it has built a 27,000 square foot facility as part of Phase One development to support its space systems engineering operations. Phase One, comprising 20 acres of land, will be a mixed-use, town center style development that includes retail and hospitality space. The four-phase project is being designed by leading architecture firm Dekker, Perich, Sabatini.
MaxQ@Kirtland Phase 1 Development
MaxQ@Kirtland, developed by Thunderbird Kirtland Management, is made possible through the
Department of the Air Force’s Enhanced Use Lease program, which leases military-owned land for private sector development at fair market value or in-kind consideration.
